Several Airlines Experiencing Delays Due To Technical Issue
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A technical issue triggered delays for several airlines Monday.
Southwest Airlines issued a ground stop. Several other airlines, including United, JetBlue, Alaska and Delta, are also affected, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
“Southwest Airlines has issued a ground stop this morning as a result of a technology outage involving a vendor that provides aircraft weight and balance data,” the airline said in a statement. “We appreciate our Customers patience as we work with our partner to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
The problem is with a program called AeroData, used to calculate the weight and balance of flights.
“AeroData is currently experiencing a technical issue that is impacting multiple carriers, including a few of our regional carriers,” American Airlines said in a statement. “AeroData is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
