Gunman Critically Wounded During Police-Involved Shooting In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Police say an armed suspect has been critically injured after starting a shootout with officers in Brooklyn.
Sources tell CBS2 the gunman opened fire at police around 8 p.m. near Baltic and Hoyt Streets in Boerum Hill.
The NYPD says none of the officers were injured and returned fire, firing several shots, and wounding the attacker outside the Gowanus Houses.
The gunman has been taken to an area hospital. Two other people have also been taken to local hospitals but it’s not known if they were struck by gunfire at this time.
Police have not said what prompted the suspect to start shooting.
