NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Some Instagram users will notice a popular feature disappearing this coming week from their screens.
The number of “likes” will soon be hidden from randomly selected social media posters in the U.S.

The change has already rolled out in other countries. If you post an image, you will still see the likes, but other users will not.
Instagram’s CEO says the test-run is being done to lessen the perceived pressure to receive likes, especially among younger users.
