Paramus School Bus Driver Faces Sentencing For Deadly 2018 Crash

PARAMUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A former Paramus school bus driver responsible for a deadly 2018 crash will be in court for sentencing today.

Hudy Muldrow Sr. faces up to 10 years in prison after taking a plea deal in December.

Prosecutors say the 79-year-old recklessly made a U-turn on Route 80 in Mount Olive while driving students from East Brook Middle School on a field trip.

A dump truck hit the bus, killing fifth grader Miranda Vargas and social studies teacher Jennifer Williamson.

After the deadly crash, CBS2 learned Muldrow was driving with a suspended license due to unpaid parking tickets, and his license had previously been suspended more than a dozen times.
