Gas Prices Dip In New Jersey, Remain Stable In Country As A Whole
TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Gas prices dipped a bit in New Jersey but remained steady across the nation. Analysts, however, expect more fluctuation for the rest of the summer.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in New Jersey on Friday was $2.18, a penny less than the week before. Drivers were paying $2.79 a gallon at this time last year.
The national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was also $2.18, unchanged from the previous week. The national average was $2.72 at this time a year ago.
Analysts say gas prices are likely to fluctuate through the rest of the summer due to COVID-19 concerns, and they’ve been trending less expensive as demand continues to drop.
