PASSAIC, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — A car veered off a highway and plunged into the Passaic River in New Jersey.
It happened Thursday morning in the northbound lanes of Route 21 in Essex County.
The driver was reportedly rescued.
A crane later pulled the mangled car out of the water.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
