Sources: Man Shot In ER Waiting Area At Jacobi Medical Center
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A man was shot Tuesday afternoon inside the emergency room at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, police sources tell CBS2.
Sources said the victim was shot in the arm and is in stable condition.
Sources also told CBS2 the 35-year-old victim was in the emergency room waiting area to seek treatment for a previous injury. The suspect was waiting to speak to a hospital representative, but it’s unclear why he was in the hospital.
The victim and the suspect exchanged looks, but it’s not known if words were exchanged. The suspect then took out a gun and fired four shots. The victim was struck in the left forearm.
There was a handful of other people in the area, but no other injuries were reported.
Sources said police are doing a video and physical canvass to see where the shooter fled.
The suspect is described as wearing all black.
